NexTone Introduces New Revenue Opportunities for Music Cover Artists on YouTube with CRIP to Global Markets

NexTone, a Japanese music rights management company, is developing a variety of business services and tools in addition to its copyright management business. Among them, its YouTube channel revenue improvement service is performing well. In particular, we are pleased to announce that our CRIP (Cover Revenue Improvement Project) service has completed contracts with many major MCNs and entertainment-related companies in Japan and we are now expanding our business outside Japan.

NexTone Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Masahiro Anan) has been conducting phased operations since July 2020 to enhance the revenue of music cover videos (vocal covers, instrumental covers, etc.) on YouTube. With the steady expansion of licensing agreements domestically, we have decided to begin full-scale operation of this service for international markets.

About CRIP(Cover Revenue Improvement Project)

NexTone is given multiple authorizations for advanced music identification capabilities on YouTube. By leveraging these features and expertise, we can increase the revenue of music cover videos (vocal covers, instrumental covers, etc.) on YouTube, achieving significant results domestically. CRIP significantly boosts the revenue of its client music cover video creators (channel operators). Ensuring accurate identification of copyrighted music materials in the target videos also enables us to provide copyright holders with more precise and transparent information. We have also utilized this initiative to expand revenue from other video materials, such as live music footage, animations, TV shows for which monetization was challenging.

※MCN (Multi-Channel Network) is a third-party service provider that collaborates with multiple YouTube channels to offer services including audience development, content programming, creator collaboration, digital rights management, monetization, marketing, etc.

Future Outlook

CRIP is an original service deployed exclusively by NexTone which can be utilized worldwide. Many of Japan’s major MCNs, production companies, TV stations, and media companies have implemented this service, and it has a proven track record of increasing profits. This time, we now focus on global expansion around the world.

We thank you for your continued support and look forward to sharing more exciting updates with you in the near future.
