(Tokyo, Japan) Warehouse TERRADA announces its role as an official partner for Tokyo Gendai, an international art fair scheduled for September 2025 in Yokohama. In conjunction with the fair, we will host the collaborative event TENNOZ ART WEEK 2025 in Tennoz, Tokyo, from September 11th (Thu) to September 15th (Mon), 2025.
The TENNOZ ART WEEK 2025 event will be held across Warehouse TERRADA’s six venues, showcasing a variety of programs including Nile Koetting’s performative installation inspired by warehouse spaces; Atsushi Suwa’s first large-scale solo exhibition in three years; a group exhibition with numerous galleries; an art workshop utilizing traditional materials; and more. Through works that transcend genres and generations, the event offers a broad presentation of the current state of contemporary art.
Located in Tennoz, the event’s host district, a rich ecosystem of galleries, museums, an art materials lab, and bonded warehouses supports a wide range of activities including exhibitions, creation, storage, and distribution. While retaining the heritage of the warehouse district, Tennoz is evolving as an art-centeric community. By bringing together an international art fair and the Tennoz art district, the event aims to promote international cultural tourism through art and contribute to the continued growth of Japan’s contemporary art market.

1. Nile Koetting “Blossoms –fulfilment”
A new performative installation by an internationally acclaimed artist that reexamines the very act of “viewing”

Nile Koetting, an internationally recognized artist known for his performative installations, will present his first large-scale work in Japan in nearly a decade. This new piece is part of his Blossoms series, first unveiled in Lisbon in 2024, and will be newly developed to suit the distinctive qualities of a warehouse space in Tennoz, Tokyo. Addressing themes such as the meaning and value of the act of viewing in contemporary society, the installation directly questions what it means to “view” art and who the “viewer” truly is. Its structure will extend beyond the exhibition space itself, engaging with the surrounding urban environment.

6. Exhibition “Blurred: Intersecting Boundaries”
A three-artist exhibition fusing traditional techniques with contemporary art

BONDED GALLERY presents works by Ayako Kuno, Yuki Nara, and Masayoshi Nojo—three emerging artists who fuse traditional Japanese techniques with contemporary art.
Their practices traverse diverse realms—metal and the city, architecture and ceramics, photography and memory—subtly shifting the boundaries we unconsciously take for granted. In a world where everything tends to be quantified and clearly defined, their expressions reveal the beauty of ambiguity that quietly resides in the in-between—the kind of ambiguity signified by the word “Blurred.”
Through contemporary reconstructions of traditional methods such as metal casting, ceramics, and metal leaf, the exhibition invites viewers to experience a world that gently wavers between clearly drawn lines.
Venue: BONDED GALLERY (TERRADA ART COMPLEX II 4F, 1-32-8, Higashi-Shinagawa, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo)
Dates and Time: September 11th (Thu) – September 28th (Sun), 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Established in 1950 and located in Tennoz, Tokyo, Warehouse TERRADA has developed dedicated storage services for highly specialized items such as artworks, wine, media, and confidential documents. In particular, the art storage service, first launched in 1975, has expanded into artwork restoration, transportation, exhibitions, and other related solutions, all available in one-stop. In 2014, we began operating a bonded warehouse for artworks. In 2022, we launched a new space that functions as a permanent gallery venue allowing for viewings, storage, and more under bonded conditions, aiming to further invigorate art distribution. We also operate art studios available for rent and host the TERRADA ART AWARD, supporting emerging artists. These initiatives earned us the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award in 2018. In recent years, Warehouse TERRADA has opened several facilities that promote art and culture, including the museum of contemporary art and architecture WHAT MUSEUM, art gallery cafe WHAT CAFE, art materials lab PIGMENT TOKYO and TERRADA ART COMPLEX, one of Japan’s largest gallery complexes.
