Program Details

01 Osanbashi Hall: “Hama-jiman” Yokohama Geisha – Silk Version

A bespoke performance blending the “Yokohama Scarf” (symbolizing Yokohama’s heritage as the City of Silk) with the traditional song “Hama-jiman,” passed down through generations of Yokohama Geisha. The featured piece, “Kinuryu-mai Koto-hajime” (The Silk Dragon Dance: The Beginning), uses contemporary dance to portray the mystical journey from silkworm cocoon to exquisite thread. Experience the evolution of Yokohama’s silk culture and performing arts through this modern, original production.

02 Yokohama Marine Tower: The Yokohama Sisters & Hama-Chacha

Witness the revival of “Hama-Chacha,” the iconic dance style that defined Yokohama’s 70s disco scene, appearing here in a surprise flash mob. Featuring the Yokohama-born vocal unit “The Yokohama Sisters,” this venue hosts a high-energy live music and dance event that perfectly captures the city’s vibrant spirit.

03 THE WHARF HOUSE: Hama-MEISEN + Yokohama Geisha

The world debut of “Hama-MEISEN,” the newly formed ensemble under the Yokohama Geisha lineage! Be among the first to witness the premiere of the modern version of “Hama-jiman” (with new arrangement and choreography). Following the performance, enjoy authentic Ozasiki (parlor) games and interaction with the Yokohama Geisha.

04 Yokohama Doll Museum: Otome Bunraku “Sanbaso”

The Yokohama Doll Museum is a prestigious institution housing over 10,000 dolls from 100+ countries, offering a rare window into global folklore and history. At the museum’s dedicated “Akai Kutsu Theater,” and in collaboration with the Modern Puppetry Center, we present “Sanbaso”—a celebratory dance traditional to Japan, performed to pray for a bountiful harvest and good fortune.

05 SEA BASS ZERO: Jazz Cruise

A sophisticated voyage where the sea breeze meets the shifting colors of Yokohama’s skyline. Enjoy an authentic live Jazz performance as we set sail from Yamashita Park for an elegant “Harbor Music Hour.”
