Performances by Animenz, Manamaru, Miyaken, and May’n General Tickets to go on Sale From Thursday, October 13
DMM.com LLC (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Chairman and CEO: Keishi Kameyama; hereinafter “DMM”) is pleased to announce that our regional revitalization business, DMM Regional Revitalization, has been selected as the official organizer of the Kitakyushu Anime Songs Piano Live 2022 to be held in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture (Mayor: Kenji Kitahashi; hereinafter “Kitakyushu City”). The event will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022, with general tickets going on sale from Thursday, October 13, 2022.
About “Kitakyushu Anime Songs Piano Live”
“Kitakyushu Anime Songs Piano Live 2022” is a live piano concert featuring approximately 20 popular anime songs performed by renowned pianist Animenz, whose YouTube and bilibili channels have approximately two million subscribers; multi-talented pianist Manamaru, who plays piano while imitating anime characters; and professional trombone player and street piano YouTuber Miyaken. In addition, we are pleased to announce that May’n, a talented female singer whose theme songs for anime, movies, and games have topped the charts, has been added to the lineup.
The event will serve as a dream collaboration of piano performances by popular pianists and songs by talented singers, who were highly requested in last year’s survey. We invite you to come and enjoy this special concert that you can only experience here.
Artist Profiles
Animenz
Born in Germany, Animenz has lived in Japan since 2019. Active as a piano arranger and Steinway artist, he has won prizes in various competitions in Germany and studied classical through college. He is well known for his performance style which mixes classical music with Japanese anime music. In 2010, he began posting videos on YouTube, with this year marking 12 years since he started. He has approximately two million subscribers each on YouTube and bilibili, and has received favorable reviews for his detailed explanations of musical motifs and background in arrangements in the video overview section. He is fluent in four languages (German, English, Chinese, and Japanese) and boasts overwhelming support from overseas anime fans.
Manamaru
Manamaru is a pianist who not only plays the piano, but also provides unconventional and one-of-a-kind entertainment such as light-hearted talk, ventriloquism, and singing while imitating anime characters that have become a big hit on social media.
Miyaken
Born in Kagoshima City, Miyaken graduated top of his class from the Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts as a trombone major and is currently a professional trombone player who performs as a guest performer in professional orchestras while also releasing videos of himself playing his way around street pianos on YouTube. Playing by ear and improvising while respecting the original song, his style of performing gorgeous arrangements that reflect the orchestral sound of his main occupation has been well received. Currently, the number of subscribers to his channel has exceeded 200,000. While performing one-man shows at halls throughout Japan, he also performs at street piano events.
May’n
May’n is a highly talented singer who fascinates listeners in Japan and abroad with her overwhelming singing ability that is not bound by genre and her high-pitched voice that that can hold notes. Having made her major debut in 2005 at the tender age of 15, the theme songs for anime, movies, and games that she has worked on so far have topped the charts, earning her unwavering popularity. She regularly performs live and has brought her singing voice to the world stage through overseas tours and festival appearances since 2010, including at domestic venues such as Nippon Budokan and Yokohama Arena.
