"Unis in Unison 2026 — Kyoto Rising Artists Project" Presented by Warehouse TERRADA with Four Art Universities in Kyoto

Tokyo, Japan — Warehouse TERRADA, in collaboration with four art universities in Kyoto (Kyoto City University of Arts, Kyoto University of the Arts, Kyoto Seika University, and Kyoto Saga University of Arts / Kyoto Saga Art College), is currently hosting “Unis in Unison 2026 — Kyoto Rising Artists Project,” an on-site creation and exhibition project featuring 16 emerging artists from these institutions. In this second edition, in addition to the original support of providing venues for creation and exhibition, new sponsorship programs with art supply manufacturers have been established to offer ongoing support for emerging artists.

TERRADA ART STUDIO Kyoto. By offering the facility as a venue for creation and exhibition, Warehouse TERRADA is fostering an environment where recent graduates can sustain their creative practice and connect with visitors and art professionals through their exhibitions.

Under the newly introduced sponsorship programs with art supply manufacturers, participating artists are attending lectures on the history and practical application of various art materials, including pigments, traditional Japanese inksticks, brushes, and colorants. Learning directly from industry specialists gives participating artists the opportunity to discover materials and techniques best suited to their artistic vision and integrate them into their practice.

Once they have completed their creation period, the participating artists will transform their working studios into public exhibition spaces. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to experience the finished works and the creative environments in which they were made, and will have the option to purchase select pieces. During this time, the facility’s other studio artists will also participate by opening their studios to the public.

By bringing together emerging artists with ties to Kyoto beyond institutional boundaries, this project aims to spark new exchanges and broaden creative horizons within a shared environment for production and exhibition. Warehouse TERRADA continues to support the next generation of artists by providing ongoing opportunities for production, exhibitions, and sales.

TERRADA ART STUDIO Kyoto is a dedicated studio facility for Kyoto-based artists and creators. Conveniently located a six-minute walk from Kyoto Station, the facility offers 24/7 access year-round. It features 31 studio spaces — comprising both private and open layout options tailored to support diverse creative styles. Warehouse TERRADA, based in Tennoz, Tokyo, has been involved in the art storage business since the 1970s and has engaged in community development through art in collaboration with local communities since the 1980s. About Warehouse TERRADA

Established in 1950 and located in Tennoz, Tokyo, Warehouse TERRADA has developed dedicated storage services for highly specialized items such as artworks, wine, media and confidential documents. In particular, the art storage service, first launched in 1975, has expanded into artwork restoration, transportation, exhibitions and other related solutions, all available in one-stop. In 2014, the company began operating a bonded warehouse for artworks.
